&kow craft shop is located in a quiet suburb of Siem Reap, Cambodia, where one of the great world heritage of Angkor Wat remains.<\/p>\n
Cambodia has a traditional leather craft work which is called “sbaek” in (Cambodian) Khmer.<\/p>\n
It is one of their traditional performing arts, that is the show of shadow puppets made by hard tanned cow leather. The performer uses beautifully decorated handcrafted cow leather \u201csbaek\u201d.<\/p>\n
Artisan tans a hardened leather and punching holes by using handmade knives and tools.<\/p>\n
These shows which performers hold the shadow puppets over a light certainly has revived as native Khmer traditional arts along with Apsara dancing after a brutal civil war.<\/p>\n

Fragrance holes<\/strong><\/p>\n A scent is the strongest humans\u2019 connection to their memories.\u00a0<\/p>\n There even such a story that an elderly man who can’t even remember the faces of his family because of dementia could recall his past memory with the scents of the furniture or traditional items in his home he uses to live. What the mind forgets the heart remembers.<\/p>\n Do you have such an experience that suddenly you remember your past relationship with a scent of someone who just passed you by?<\/p>\n Or you can visualize when you were a kid with the smell of your home cooked meal.<\/p>\n Do you have such experiences?<\/p>\n The products of &kow has small air holes on a corner of each product that called fragrance holes.<\/p>\n You suddenly realize some special moments with the scent triggered you. However, the fibers get soft as you use\u00a0 the product regularly and gets to be fitted to you naturally.<\/p>\n As it does not have any plastic covered surface finishing it may get some scratches on usual wear and tear. Please do not leave it as it is wet, it may cause stains, swelling or molding.<\/p>\n \u30fbSince our product does not have any scarring prevention surface coating, it may get dented and scars. Thin scars may be faded and become unvisible with normal wear and tear as you use it. However, once it is scarred or have gotten marks, they are difficult to remove. Please use it with caution if you wish to avoid such marks.<\/p>\n \u30fbWe recommend to not leave it long time in high in temperature and humidity or places with volatile changes in humidity and temperature to prevent discoloration and fading of color.<\/p>\n \u30fbWe value natural state of materials. So, we do not use color fading prevention process. Strong friction or exposure to water may cause discoloration or color fading. Please take it with caution.<\/p>\n \u30fbTo make the most of natural vegetable tanned leather texture, we do not use any scarring prevention surface coating. It may leave scars or marks or glossiness caused during the creation process or storage.<\/p>\n Most of these marks will be naturally observed or faded most of the time.
